I am Guochen - a junior at Grinnell college pursuing computer science degree. I have three years of experience in full-stack development with strong foundation in multiple programming languages and tools. Beyond development, my interest in data science also led me to delve into a research, named " Redistricting Score for Community Preservation", where we applyed quantitive methods to analyze the impact of gerrymandering on community preservation.
Apart from my enthusiasm in the tech world, I embrace the thrill of outdoor activities. I find joy and passion in skiing, hiking and camping, connecting with the splendor of the great nature. I am also interested in languages. As a trilingual, I am fluent in English and Mandarin, and taking mastering French as my goal.

In our project, we assessed the preservation of communities in redistricting, focusing on residents' rights to select local representatives. Highlighted by the Supreme Court in the Allen v. Milligan case, the concept of an 'ousted population' was introduced to measure community preservation. This metric represents residents excluded from core voting districts. Our analysis included artificial models and real-world cases from North Carolina and Michigan, exploring the impact of this preservation score.
